Anna Silk was born at St. Thomas University in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. She is the daughter Peter Silk - an academic - and Ilkay Silk, an accomplished actress as well as a writer, director, and producer. Her father is from Britain, while her mother is an "Turkish ex-pat from Cyprus who is now living in England."
